CEO's Message

Dear Bricolage Community,

It is with great gratitude and enthusiasm that I come to you as the newly appointed CEO of Bricolage Academy. The trust and confidence bestowed upon me by the Board of Directors, the staff, and school community is truly humbling and appreciated.

Embracing the role of CEO, I am acutely aware of the profound impact education can have on shaping a child's future. Based on my core values of prioritizing family, community, education, and leading by example, I am resolutely dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where all students are nurtured to become innovative changemakers capable of impacting the world.

My commitment to growing our organization is unwavering. The recent strides made thus far serve as a source of inspiration, signaling the potential for even greater achievements ahead. As we continue to implement our blueprint to expand student success, we will lean into our current progress to propel us towards an elite organization.

Bricolage Academy stands as a testament to excellence, poised to make a significant impact in the educational landscape of New Orleans. It is my vision for Bricolage Academy to shine as a national exemplar in developing staff and educating children to thrive, succeed, and grow. In the upcoming weeks, I will unveil my 90-day entry plan, centered on engaging stakeholders, setting the direction of the organization, driving results, maximizing talent, and managing the organization. Each of these themes will allow us to create strategic steps to move Bricolage forward in alignment with the vision of our Board of Directors.

My heartfelt thanks go out to all. It is a true honor to step into the role of CEO, and together, let us strive to continue advancing equity and creating innovators throughout our school community.

Meet Our CEO

Dr. Edward Brown graduated from Nicholls state University and embarked on his professional journey as a special education, science, and high school Biology instructor within the New Orleans Public Schools system. He later studied at Southern University at New Orleans earning the master's degree in Urban Education and later participated in the New Leaders for New Schools Aspiring Principals program.

Following the completion of the Aspiring Principals program, Dr. Brown played a pivotal role in the leadership of one of New Orleans' early charter schools. Transitioning thereafter to oversee schools in underserved communities, he focused on fostering equitable learning environments and enhancing student outcomes. With experience leading both charter and district-run schools, Dr. Brown's leadership was marked by significant student growth across multiple campuses.

Dr. Brown's commitment to educational leadership led him to pursue further studies at the University of Holy Cross, where he earned a Doctor of Education in Executive Leadership. He subsequently launched a consulting career and served as Executive Director of Program, Implementation with New Leaders, Inc. providing support to district and charter school leaders in their pursuit of educational excellence. Dr. Brown most recently served as Director of School Support for New Orleans Public Schools where he supported charter school leaders with improving financial, operational, and academic outcomes.
